Finance Assistant – Newbridge, Midlothian

Location: Newbridge, near Edinburgh Airport
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £38,000

Valeco Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a long-standing, family-run business to hire a hands-on Finance Assistant for their office in Newbridge, Midlothian.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid finance experience who enjoys being close to the day-to-day operations of a business. You’ll be joining a small, friendly team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll for approximately 20 employees

  • Supporting with management accounts and internal reporting

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Managing bank reconciliations and credit control

  • Contributing to business decisions with sound financial knowledge

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a Finance or Accounts Assistant role

  • Strong understanding of payroll, VAT, and management accounts

  • Confident with accounting software

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Proactive and dependable team player

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Must be able to commute daily to Newbridge (EH28)
